Bridgeport, CT US (April 19, 2019) — eye heart hand® will be exhibiting for the first time at ICFF 2019, May 19-22, an international expo for contemporary furniture and fine interior design. The four-day event at the Javits Center in New York will feature more than 900 exhibitors and attract close to 40,000 attendees from the design industry.

Visit booth 783 where eye heart hand co-founder and designer, Kate D. Spain, will share her premiere collection of field-to-fiber-to-floor rugs.

eye heart hand celebrates extraordinary design, pure New Zealand wool from a single sustainable source, and ethical craftsmanship — from the designer’s eye, to the heart of the shepherd’s biodiverse 10,000 acre land, to the hands of a master GoodWeave®-certified artisan in India. In addition, the origin of the wool in eye heart hand rugs is verified by Oritain®.

“In transforming the extraordinary wool from the Guilds of High Peak Estate New Zealand into field-to-fiber rugs that I design, we want to ensure that the wool that Hamish Guild selects is the only wool that makes it into our rugs,” said Kate Spain. "Thanks to Oritain, the wool at each step of the process can be tested and traced back to the Guilds’ High Peak Estate. In that way, no inferior fibers can get mixed into our rugs without detection. We also want to ensure that no child or forced labor goes into our rugs. Partnering with the dedicated team at GoodWeave gives us the best assurance of this. With eye heart hand, we are able to stand by our process -- from the field to the fiber to the rug on your floor. And we do. Each eye heart hand rug is hand signed by me, by Hamish at High Peak, and by Firoz Ansari, a master rugmaker in India.”

“Making products’ provenance visible and verifiable empowers consumers to know what they’re really getting – in terms of ultra-premium quality and in connecting them with the people, places, and ethos that created this authentic and unique good for their special space,” stated co-founder Pete Spain.

Hamish Guild of High Peak Estate added, “We’re very pleased to have our wool featured at ICFF for the first time this year and to be the only wool in the eye heart hand rugs. While its beautiful to see and feel, the wool in these designer rugs is traceable to our farm and our ethical, responsible, and sustainable practices. As a country and people, we New Zealanders hold the belief in ‘Kaitiakitanga’ meaning guardianship and protection of the land for future generations. This collaboration is committed to that.”
